Hey guys,
I’m starting a new blog for the first time in years after constant motivation from Joseph. I hope and pray that this journal will provide insight and encouragement to any readers that find themselves here. It is my direct intention that these entries be pleasing to the Lord, and that they bring glory to His name. For this reason, most -if not all- of my posts will be personal devotions that I would like to share with you, responses to those devotions, God’s Word and Scripture, and lyrics to songs that are really having an impact on my life (wholesome, of course).
In addition, if there are any issues that I feel I am being led to discuss, I will only do so with the basis of Scripture. I am going to try my best to never rely solely on my opinion. Only through God can we uncover the truth to every situation.
On a side note, I will of course be mentioning my Tar Heels and Panthers from time to time.
For now, I would like to kick off this journal with a song called “Yearn” by some of my favorite songwriters, Shane & Shane.
Holy design
This place in time
That I might seek and find my God
My God
Lord I want to yearn for You
I want to burn with passion
Over You and only You
Lord I want to yearn
Your joy is mine
Yet why am I fine
With all my singing and bringing grain
In light of Him
Oh You give life and breath
Through Him You give all things
In Him we live and move
That’s why I sing
- Acts 17:25-28
- Hebrews 12:28-29

The decision has been made. There is no need for childish words or impulsive actions. The words that I choose are not just words to me, but what I live by and by which I will always live. No matter where those “winds” may turn, I will stand by my faith. That faith is in the only true God, the Savior, Jesus Christ. Secondly, I wholeheartedly stand for liberty. I love my country and will support it. If either of these are ever attacked, I only hope that this note is the first to be found. I will not back down.
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Luke 21:33
“Many are asking, “Who can show us any good?”
Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.
You have filled my heart with greater joy
than when their grain and new wine abound.
I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O LORD,
make me dwell in safety.”
Psalm 4:6-8

This caught my eye recently, floating across the blog world. People from all walks of life with so much talent are talking about their formerly destructive lives and how Christ saved them from everything! This is one of the coolest things I have come across! What a great way to communicate such powerful testimonies.
They know what talents God gave them and turned away from a destructive lifestyle, and turned around and used their talent to start a ministry and lead people to Christ! Nothing pumps me up more than seeing people from all walks of life getting up, and stepping out of their comfort zones! Step out of the boat! (Matthew 14: 22-36) Take a look for yourself as actors, musicians, athletes, and neighbors share their testimony and how Christ changed their lives!
Someone refused to give up on them!!! We can’t give up on anyone. The road may be rough… but the payoff is worth every bit of the effort.
I encourage every guy to check out Nate Larkin’s story here!
